Pandora

So I just want to say allowed..I Love Pandora. What a great invention, really. I've always been a fan of online radio. I use to use Yahoo-radio, it's similar to Pandora in the sense that you can create a personalized radio station. The difference is that you cant create one based on a song like you can with Pandora. I love to listen to classical music while studying, so I tune into my Pandora, pick my 'classiacal' station I've customized, and I'm good to go! It's also a great way to find new artists, as I've found many from using my 'Augustana' station. It gives me bands that are similar in sound, and I never seem to get bored of the same artists over and over again. So I give Pandora an overall 'thumbs-up" to free personalized radio!

  1. I haven't used Pandora so much once I found lala.com.....Yahoo used to have a service where you rated the artist, album, and song from 0-5 stars, which fine-tuned things more than the thumbs-up / thumbs down system of Pandora.... That said, I too really enjoyed that a lot, and appreciated the new stuff it pushed my way...

And a COMM 229 note--you only get points for one post per day... it (ostensibly) cuts down on the bum rush on posts on the last day of the period. *ahem*

  2. haha, well this is my second post, but I wanted to say, i used to love pandora. I started using last.fm recently, I liked its layout and style, and it had better music since I left pandora. Not to mention (i think this has changed) but pandora would only let you skip so many songs in an hour.

  3. no, pandora still lets you skip only so many songs in an hour. it kind of stinks but what can ya do. i have trouble with last.fm, because it will never let me listen to a specific songs outright. i find the layout kind of confusing. but I LOVE listening to pandora classical.
